elōs Technology
Our equipment features proprietary elōs combined-energy technology of Bi-Polar Radio Frequency (RF) with light energy. This allows increased selectivity and deeper dermal penetration with less optical energy being necessary when synergistically combined with Bi-Polar RF, this improves the effectiveness of the treatment and the safety factor when treating all skin types.

Active Dermal Monitoring, monitors dermal temperature changes during each pulse for added treatment effectiveness and safely, and constant contact cooling increases patient comfort.

Esthetic Laser Frequently Asked Questions

Understanding Laser Hair Removal In A Nutshell!
It is important to fully understand how laser hair removal works, in order to have realistic expectations. In a nutshell, hair growth occurs in 3 stages, Anagen, Telegen and a Dormant or 'Resting' phase wherein the individual hair follicle sits empty or dormant for a time. Hormones will then trigger tiny blood vessels to become active to the dormant follicle triggering the growth of a new baby hair. This is the only phase of growth where permanent hair reduction can occur. Any and all Lasers simply provide enough heat to the level of the follicle and those blood vessels to permanently cauterized them shut...no blood vessels, no oxygen, no nutrients, no hair! At any given time only 10 - 15% of your active hair follicles are in this phase and appropriate for permanent hair removal - thereby if you do the math, that means that you will/should see a 10 - 15% reduction in regrowth after each treatment, and it will take 8 - 10 treatments to achieve full permanent hair removal.

During the second phase of hair growth, there is hair present, and just like cats and dogs we are all shedding all the time...the present hairs will continue to work their way up and out of the follicle, until they fall out and the follicle becomes dormant. This hair does NOT necessarily have blood supply and is therefore not susceptible to permanent hair removal. SOMETIMES (but not always) these hairs will be 'shocked' by the laser and fall out and become dormant earlier than they would have otherwise, and this is when many people mistakenly believe hair removal is done in "only 3 treatments!" - sorry it's not and will come back in the next growth cycle. Remember human physiology not type of laser or technician dictates how fast and successful permanent hair reduction is!

Does it hurt?
Much less than you might imagine! Constant cooling of the skin ensures additional safety during
all treatments. If you are finding the treatment uncomfortable, ice pack can be used to make it more comfortable.

Most patients feel only a little discomfort similar to an elastic snap or mosquito bite – if you have been waxing or endured electrolysis this procedure will be easy!

Is there any downtime?
There is no downtime with these procedures and most clients return to work or normal activities immediately after treatment.

Is there any ‘after’ care?
No, because these procedures are minimally invasive no special care is required following treatment. We do recommend that you stay out of direct sunlight and even apply sun screen prior to leaving, as your skin may be more sensitive to sunlight following treatment.

We also recommend that you do not use any abrasive or aggressive skin care (exfoliants or retinol etc) immediately before or after your skin treatment. All regular gentle skin care products and deodorants are acceptable.

In the extremely rare case that there may be slight blistering or scabbing, an antibiotic ointment can be used.

Is the hair removal permanent?
Yes, once a hair follicle is destroyed, it is destroyed. However, the body has millions of hair follicles with about half dormant at any given time. We can only eliminate hair that is in the active growth or ‘anagen’ phase, which is why you require 6 – 8 treatments or more to eliminate all the hair in any given area. Your body will over time activate other hair follicles within the target area, so you may wish to plan on annual or even bi-annual touch up sessions to eliminate those as they arise.

Will laser hair removal work for me?
The patented elos technology uses Bi-Polar radio frequency combined with IPL light energy laser to provide the safest and most effective treatment on the market for any hair color or skin type.

Laser Hair removal works quickly and most easily on dark pigmented hair on lighter skin color – however the elos system allows us to treat darker skin colors as well as minimally pigmented hair. Most blond and even grey hair will respond, but may take more treatments as compared to darker hair colors.

How quickly will I see results?
Most Laser Hair Removal patients are shocked to see significant reduction in hair growth after even the first treatment. They find hair grows back slower, and finer with each treatment, with complete removal in 6 to 8 treatments.

Refirme skin tightening results depend on the age of the skin, the pre treatment laxity and the area being treated. Most patients see an immediate
slight tightening effect that is compounded over time and with each treatment. I have seen excellent results in as little as 2 treatments with full effects seen after 4 to 6 at monthly intervals.

Fotofacial RF – gives excellent results even after the first treatments with many superficial sun spots and freckles responding immediately, and fading quickly. More treatments are required to treat deeper pigmented lesions and vascular lesions as in Rosacea.
